4x4 pumpkins

I saw these pumpkins around the internet a while back.
They were cute and looked easy!!
I went to my local hardware store.
I bought a 8 foot long 4x4 and had them cut
2   13 1/2 in.
2   15 1/2 in.
2   18 1/2 in.
That is exactly enough for 2 sets.
And it was only around $9!

I painted them with a bright orange paint.
(while having a coke)

Sanded the edges with my handy little mouse sander.

Found some twigs from around the yard for the stems.

My husband is giving "power tool lessons".
This is one of the 1st ones.
So I got to drill the holes in the top.

I was going to use E000.

But decided on the trusty glue gun.

(just so you know...you can NEVER go wrong with a glue gun)

Then glued all the twigs in and let them dry.

Embellished them a little with green wire that I had laying around
and some burlap.

And there you have a
cute little set of pumpkins for around $5.00!!

{Drab to Fab}

Don't you LOVE taking old, ugly things and making them look fabulous??

I DO TO!!

This is my latest project.......an old ugly lamp I found at the D.I.
It clearly needed just a little love.....
All it took was a few coats of silver spray paint on the lamp base, with a light coat over the shade...and a few hours (well, it seemed more like many hours) of rolling flowers out of silver satiny material that I grabbed at Walmart.  (It took 2 yards total)
I just glued them on with my glue gun.

Ta Da!  Drab to FAB!!!

A Tip on Tuesday...

I haven't had these kitchen rugs for very long.

Lately, they have been losing their traction.
They may or may not get washed a lot.
Not because we have a lot of spills at my house!
Oh, heavens no!!

So instead of shopping for new rugs, I tried to find a temporary solution to the problem.

Silicone...
Just run a bead of silicone down the back of the rugs.

I decided to flatten mine out a bit...

Ta....Da...
A cheap way to salvage a good rug!!

I have used them for a couple of days
and they are staying put!!

I am linking up over here

Haunted Tree...and our Giveaway Winners!!!

I had to do one more decoration for Halloween!

Since it is almost here!!

I saw this Haunted Tree on Wood You Like To Craft....and thought it was so cute!
I had to make my own version....

I started my drawing my tree on a piece of 1/2 inch MDF.  Mine is about 3 feet tall.  I drew one side along the edge of the board, then just traced it for the other pieces...and added a top to the center piece.

After cutting it out with a jigsaw, we glued the side pieces in place with wood glue.

Throw on some black paint and that's it!

There are so many cute ways you could decorate this!

I decided to go with bats....

I cut the bat shape out of 1/4 in. wood.....painted the edges black and modge podged some Halloween scrapbook paper onto both sides.  To hang them I just used fishing line tied around each wing.

I think my house is finally Halloween ready!!

We are Celebrating....

That our "craft blog" has been up and running for 2 weeks.
We are having SO MUCH FUN sharing with you.

We want to have some giveaways...
Everyone loves a giveaway, right??
Every day this week we are giving you a chance to win something from us!
So come back each day!

Today I am going to share with you a little onesie that I made for a friend.
I bought a pack of 3 onesies from Walmart.

I used black fabric paint to stamp a little necklace on the onesie.
I just free handed it.
You could very easily mark it with a piece of chalk.
 Then stamp away.

Finished.  I decided to just do 2 little necklaces.  You could add as many as you want.  My onesie was a 0-3 months.  So it was tiny.
I cut 3 different size circles from my pink cotton fabric.  You can make these as big as you want. I also free handed the circles...but you use a pattern if you are nervous about it.

I had some tulle from a tutu that I made.  I added it in between each layer.

Then with a black thread, I just sewed it on the onesie.

I trimmed the tulle a little.
And made an extra one for a matching hair piece.

And you have a "one of a kind" gift for a friend!

And I am giving this one away to one of you!!

All you have to do is become a follower of our blog...

Winner will be chosen Wednesday morning.

Come back tomorrow for Day 2 of our giveaway week!!
