An "easy" wreath...

I say easy...

And I mean easy because you only need 3, scratch that, 4 things!

1st is some crepe paper.  

I bought mine at JJWD for only $1.19 for 2 rolls.

I used 3 rolls.

2nd  is a piece of cardboard 

Cut into the shape of a heart. 

It doesn't need to be scientific.  Your flowers will hide any imperfections!

3rd thing is A LOT of glue sticks.

I bought mine at JJWD.

You get 20 for $1.00!!  

So buy extra...you will need them!

I wrapped my heart with crepe paper.  ( just so you couldn't see the brown cardboard)

Next is the fun part (not really)

Cut strips of paper.  Wrinkle them up. Unfold them. Fold over one edge. And start wrapping and gluing.

Be prepared to burn your fingers a time or two!!

The 4th thing you need is some DVR'ed entertainment.

I had 4 episodes of Tori and Dean.

It took a little longer than I thought...

But it was worth it!

A five mintue Valentine craft...

I needed a little something to add to my valentines decor...

I had bought some red, hot pink, and pink felt at JJWD.

(my local hardware store)

They were 3 pieces for $1.00!

Yay!!

I cut little hearts out in all shapes and sizes...

Threaded my machine with red thread.

And just sewed them in a line.

You could easy do this with just a thread and a needle!

So easy!

So easy that I made 3 more to add in 

different places all over my house!

And it added the touch that I was looking for.

We are back....

After barley surviving the holidays

We are back with an organizing challenge, new crafts,

yummy recipes, and Valentines DIY projects!!

I just got my tree down!

Seriously!

And now I am depressed. 

My house is sad and no longer sparkly!

I went straight for decorating for Valentines Day!

Yesterday we decided to make something to spruce up our Living Room area.

 See....Kinda sad!!

Looking for some inspiration....

 A plan....

Wood salvaged from my broken fence in the backyard...

 Cut and layed out to decide where to add the screws.

Cute....

After I screwed it all together.

  I decided it needed a little paint.

 Watered down white did the trick. 

I hung a wreath that I had in another room on it.

And then decided it needed a valentines touch!

That will come next!

I LOVE it!!

My try at an Ornament wreath....

These have been everywhere on Pinterest.  So I thought I would take a whack at it. 

I bought my ornaments from Walmart for $4.96 for each color. 

I had this wire in our garage.  I just sort of eyeballed the size that I wanted it to be. 

Knowing that by adding the balls it was going to get bigger.

Warmed up my favorite tool!!

And started sliding the ornaments on the wire. 

I really don't think there is a right or a wrong way. 

You will fill in later. 

Just keep adding them....

Next is the fun part. 

 Just start gluing and filling in...

Hot glue can be a little tricky.  It can be messy if you aren't careful.

Just make sure to pull all your "glue strings" as you go. 

It's looking better and taking shape.

I hung it up to see where I needed to add to it.  Just keep filling in until you are satisfied. 

Finished!!

Now I need a table runner....

I know that you all have seen all of the "subway" prints out there. 

I needed a little something to fill a frame.

So I threw one together! 

Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy!!

Framed it...

displayed it...

Decided it needed a little flower love.

There you have a quick, FREE,

 easy way to dress up a frame.

Thanksgiving

A thankful tree...

Right now I feel extremely thankful for a lot of things in my life.

Last year we wrote our "thankfuls" on leaves and stuck them on our french door windows.

This year I decided to do something a little different...

and sparkly!

Twigs from a pile in my yard...

a vase...

Orange glitter...

glue...

Some spray on glitter would have made this much easier...

But you gotta work with what you got.


I cut out some "fall-ish" looking scallops with my paper puncher. 

I didn't want a leaf pattern.
But you could totally cut leaves.

Hung them up.

And tonight after dinner we are writing on our "thankfuls"...

An old fence...

Turned into a piece of art...

 

 

I had a big, bare wall in my laundry room. 

 

 

 I wanted to make something for it.

 

 

Something with a beachy feel...

 

 

something turquoise...

 

 

because I LOVE turquoise right now!

 

 

I had a section of our old fence fall down during the last wind storm that we had.

 

 

Free old looking wood!!

A "thanksgiving-ish" wreath...

Halloween is officially over.  

It was time to take down all the black and orange stuff.

I really don't have a ton of Thanksgiving decor.

A great excuse to make something new!!

I LOVE the look of square wreaths.

A project that would only require cardboard,

leaves, and the trusty glue gun!!

It only took a 1/2 and hour,

start to finish!

An eternity scarf...

I totally agree with Mindy about November.

I LOVE it...

(and not just because my birthday is this month)

I LOVE wearing sweaters...

I LOVE boots...

I LOVE the jewel tone colors...

I am in LOVE with scarfs right now. 

But they can be a little pricey.

So I decided to make some for myself.

Living in a small town, it is impossible to find certain fabric.

  An alternative is reusing what you already have....

Here is a cotton t-shirt that I took from my husbands closet.

I first cut under the arms.

Then cut the bottom seam off.

And stretch...and stretch...
and then stretch some more!

And wear.

Cute, cheap, and easy!!
