A Tip on Tuesday...

I haven't had these kitchen rugs for very long.

Lately, they have been losing their traction.
They may or may not get washed a lot.
Not because we have a lot of spills at my house!
Oh, heavens no!!

So instead of shopping for new rugs, I tried to find a temporary solution to the problem.

Silicone...
Just run a bead of silicone down the back of the rugs.

I decided to flatten mine out a bit...

Ta....Da...
A cheap way to salvage a good rug!!

I have used them for a couple of days
and they are staying put!!

I am linking up over here

and here.

That is a great idea! I have a couple of rugs I love that I didn't want to part with because they lost their traction. I'm giving this a try. How long did it take for the silicone to dry before you put the carpets back into use?

D'Arcy...First of all, I LOVE that you have an apostrophe in your name. I do to and not very many people do!!
Second, I washed the rugs 1st. When completley dry I applied the silicone. I left them overnight, but I think they were dry within a few hours.

I had heard that silicone would work, but hated to put it on really nice rugs. Rug pads are a pain. Think I will give it a try. Thanks for testing.
